NOW President Says Fire Raiders Coach Cable
Terry O'Neill, president of the National Organization of Women, is demanding that Raiders Head Coach Tom Cable be fired due to his "history of violence against women."
Cable has been in the news since he was accused by former Raider defensive assistant Randy Hanson of attacking him and breaking his jaw during training camp. However, the Napa County district attorney declined to file charges against Cable. Since then, on ESPN's "Outside the Lines," two women made claims that Cable had previously hit them.
The NOW president wrote in an email to USA Today, reported on ESPN.com, that "Mr. Cable admits having battered his first wife, and he stands accused of battering two other intimate partners as well." Cable admits striking his first wife over 20 years ago but denies ever touching another woman in an inappropriate manner.
